Dipping the Toes

We all need to express ourselves. I am trying different venues to do just that. A dear friend of mine was an hesitant, but adventurous neophyte to the world o’ blogging within the past year. That year has been, from my observer’s outlook, an intriguing one…new friends made and stories vented and shared. I also found myself lurking on other folks’ blog sites, enjoying the visits. When I proffered my hesitant wish to participate, my friend suggested that just a dip of the toe was okay to do. Try it…the water is fine…and if it might not be right for me, I can pursue other outlets, walking away with merely a dipped toe to show for it. But, unless I at least dip my toes in…I. Will. Never. Know. For. Sure. And there I was, a seeker of the new and intriguing in life, finding myself afraid to try something new. Amazing. So, I put on my big boy panties, signed up, and here I am. I was also counseled to start with something ‘more concise’…that is, don’t just puke up words to impress or ramble aimlessly. So that’s where I leave this…and I’ll wander by again soon.

Toes, unlike other lesser body parts, don’t shrivel when dipped in the water! Nothing ventured, nothing gained! So happy you’re out here!

Nuthin wrong with rambling aimlessly – I do it all the time! 🙂

daisyfae – Guess it depends how hot the water is as to shrivelage? I’m glad you’re glad to see me!

az – Welcome to The Wilds. And thanks for the comment. There was angst in starting. My finger perched nervously over the mouse key. Appreciate your thought.

No worries dude. I was – for the most part – a newby to all of this up until about a year and a half ago (and I’m in my mid-forties). My two elder daughters had MySpace pages; one of them blogged a little and that was my first introduction to this thing called a weblog.

Since then, I’ve been inspired by an itinerant and fanatical blogger (she’s a writer, actually) and now I just try to keep up.

As the old saying goes, “Fake it ’til you make it.”

Rob – Welcome to the Wild Range. I, too, was inspired by a fellow blogger-ette. I appreciate the kind words. I’m just going to charge on.
